Career Start and Similar Programs

Career Start

Career Start is a comprehensive insider's guide to effective graduate job search and career management. Presented by employer representatives and Monash University career consultants, the program can assist you to identify your key strengths and job interests, as well as practise a range of skills.

Open to final and penultimate year Monash students from all disciplines, Career Start offers guidance in job searching and effectively marketing your skills to employers - in writing and at interview. Participants will gain an understanding of assessment centres, psychometric tests and group interviews, as well as have the opportunity to practise interview technique with a diverse range of employers.

Career Start is run over three consecutive days during vacation - at Clayton campus each July, and at Caulfield campus each November. Further information is publicised in News and Events during June / July and October / November.


Career Essentials

A condensed, one-day program called Career Essentials is also offered each September. This shorter alternative to Career Start was successfully piloted at Berwick in 2004 and continues to run annually. Further information is publicised in News and Events during the lead-up to each program.
