Develop your skills with Young Achievement Australia
Young Achievement Australia (YAA) is a national, independent, not-for-profit
organisation that facilitates business skills programs linking industry
and young Australians. YAA programs challenge students in a competitive
business situation, supporting the development of employability skills
and key competencies.
By participating in a YAA program, you can:
- gain first-hand insight into the workings of private enterprise
and industry
- enhance your teamwork, organisational and leadership abilities
- acquire valuable entrepreneurial and small-business skills,
and ultimately
- improve your potential for professional employment
Take part in YAA’s free Business Skills Program
YAA’s Business Skills Program provides a competitive framework
for groups of students to run their own small businesses over a 24-week
period. During the program students create a small business, appoint
a management team, sell shares to raise capital, develop, market and
sell a product before liquidating and returning any profit to shareholders.
Guided by volunteer mentors from local organisations, participants
explore the everyday challenges that confront commercial operations,
and by taking responsibility for all business management and operational
processes, develop initiative, leadership, cooperation, communication
and team skills along the way.
Program participants can also attend special YAA events including
a Trade Expo, Management Skills Workshops and the YAA Annual Business
Awards.
