Name the new 'Jobs Online' for your chance to win an iPod!
Are you one of the lucky students who’ll win a great new iPod
Nano?
We need your help! Monash University Employment and Career Development
is running a competition to name its new, soon-to-be-launched
online
job-search and career resource system, to replace Jobs Online.
Read on to find out how simple it is to enter... and good luck!
Competition Details
Shortly we’ll be launching a new online system to enhance your
job-seeking and career development experience and as a valued user
of our current system, Jobs Online, we invite YOU to suggest a name
for the new system.
We will shortlist our choice of the top five suggested names and then
let the Monash student users of our website decide their favourite
via an online poll.
Each of the five shortlisted entrants will win a great new
iPod Nano Video! Four will take home the 4GB model and the eventual winner, who
nominates the chosen name, will take home the upgraded 8GB model, on
us!
When you’re thinking of names, keep in mind that whatever you
come up with should have a career focus and convey the idea of job
opportunities (we deal with casual, part time, summer vacation/internship
and graduate jobs mainly, exclusively for Monash students). We will
be using these criteria to select shortlist entries.
And of course, we must be able to identify and contact in case you
win a prize, so don’t forget to include your full name, daytime
phone number, Monash University student email address and student ID
number in your entry.
Hurry! Entries close 12.00noon, Monday 28 April, 2008.
Competition Terms and Conditions
All entries are subject to the full competition Terms and Conditions
set out below:
To be eligible, entrants must be current Monash University students
who are also registered users of Jobs Online. Only individuals may
enter, not teams.
To be valid, entries must (1) comprise original names that, to the
best of the entrant's knowledge,
are not already registered or in use as an Australian company, business
or domain name, otherwise protected under a patent or trademark, or
subject to copyright owned by a person other than the entrant; (2)
include only one suggestion per entry; (3) include verifiable Monash
student ID and contact details, including a Monash University student
email address.
Entries open 12.00noon, Monday 21 April, 2008
Entries close 12.00noon, Monday 28 April, 2008
Entries must be submitted online via
this link.
Entrants may submit as many names as they like; each must be via a
separate online entry.
Following close of entries, the Employment and Career Development
team will compile a shortlist of the top five preferred names. Where
any of the five shortlisted names is suggested by multiple entrants,
one entrant will be drawn at random by the Employment and Career Development
team to proceed to the published shortlist. These entrants will be
notified.
The top five shortlisted names will then be published on the Employment
and Career Development website between 12.00noon Wednesday 30 April,
2008 and 12.00noon Wednesday 7 May, 2008, where Monash University students
will have the opportunity to nominate their favourite name via a poll.
Entrants, including shortlisted entrants, may nominate in the online
poll. The poll will only allow one nomination per computer.
Each of the five entrants whose suggested name proceeds to the published
shortlist will, after the eventual winning name is chosen, be awarded
an iPod Nano Video, with the overall winner receiving the 8GB model
(x1) and the four remaining shortlist winners receiving 4GB models
(x1 each). If two or more entries from a single student proceed to
the published shortlist, that student will only be entitled to one
iPod Nano prize (which may or may not be the 8GB grand prize), irrespective
of how many of their entries appear in the published shortlist.
Polling will close at 12.00noon, Wednesday 7 May, 2008 and nominations
will then be tallied by the Employment and Career Development team,
to determine the most popular name by student choice.
The winning entrant, who came up with the most popular name, along
with the four remaining shortlisted entrants, will be notified and
arrangements made for them to collect their prizes. In order to collect
prizes, Employment and Career Development must be able to verify their
Monash student ID credentials and in addition, the overall winner,
to collect their prize, will be required to assign ownership of the
winning name to Monash University, via a Deed of Assignment.
The names of the shortlist and grand prize winners will later be announced
on the Employment and Career
Development website.
All decisions made by the Employment and Career Development team in
relation to preferential shortlist selections, random draws, tallying
of poll results and the awarding of prizes are final.
