2007 International Careers Expo - 21 to 23 August
Hundreds of opportunities for returning-home international students
and
Australian domestic students seeking a global career start.
Monash University Employment and Career Development will host the second annual International
Careers Expo at the Caulfield
campus from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 August, exclusively for Monash
University students and recent graduates. Entry is free.
This year twelve major international organisations will take
part, primarily to recruit students and recent graduates for
employment across the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, Europe, the UK
and USA.
Initially, delegates from all
participating organisations will attend the main Expo event to
showcase their organisations and speak with students regarding internship,
graduate entry programs and career paths across a wide range of disciplines:
- Tuesday 21 August, 12.00noon to 3.00pm
Exhibition Space H1.16 (Ground level, Building H, Caulfield Campus)
Delegates from seven organisations will also deliver a series
of information sessions commencing Tuesday 21 August and concluding the following day.
Guest speakers will
present
details
of their own career experiences, along with insight into their organisations’ recruitment
processes, opportunities, work cultures and lifestyles in different
countries around the world.
For students who’ve already applied for opportunities with
participating employers, or those that make an outstanding impression
at the event, there may be an opportunity to attend campus
interviews with visiting delegates on either Wednesday 22 or Thursday
23 August, so have your resumes ready and practise your interview skills
now. At the 2006 Expo, some lucky candidates received employment offers
immediately upon interviewing with participating employers. What better
way to head off overseas than with a great job waiting when you get
there!
Making the most of this event
Registration is not required to attend the main Expo event on 21
August, however attendees may receive specific advice regarding available

- Practise your introduction and interview skills
- Attend the main Expo event on 21 August to speak with visiting
delegates
- Attend follow-up information
sessions on 21 and/or 22 August

Smart casual attire is appropriate for the main Expo event and information
sessions, however formal business attire should be worn if an employer
