2008 Event Packages, Fees and Related Policy

Please note that registration has closed for the 2008 Graduate Careers Fairs and the Summer Vacation Employment Fair. Details on this page are for information purposes only.

A range of registration packages is offered, comprising single and multiple events (subject to availability of space).

Multi-event discounts are offered on registrations that include both Graduate Careers Fairs, or both Graduate Careers Fairs plus the Summer Vacation Employment Fair. Additionally, an early bird discount of 5% off the total package cost is offered on all registrations received before 5.00pm, Thursday 20 December 2007.

Premium packages are available to up to 15 organisations on a first-to-register basis, offering enhanced publicity and guaranteed front-quarter-of-venue positioning on the day.


Package Inclusions

ALL Careers Fair event packages include:

  • exhibition 'shell' or 'space' (as selected at registration), equipped with power, a table, three chairs (and basic signage if required). 'Shells' are 3m wide by 2m deep with a 2.4m high back wall and stepped side walls, covered in Velcro-adaptable fabric. 'Spaces' for organisations with large banners/back-drops (not requiring the 'shell' enclosure) are 3m to 3.5 wide and 2m deep.
  • generous event day support from our staff and student helpers.
  • campus parking for up to two vehicles per day of your selected package.
  • catering for up to three representatives per day of your selected package.
  • pre-event publicity - major online, on-campus and direct-to-student campaigns promoting your participation and requirements.

PREMIUM registration is available to up to 15 organisations on a first-to-register basis. In addition to all standard package inclusions shown above, premium packages help you stand out from the crowd by:

  • guaranteeing positioning in the front quarter of the venue for high visibility and
  • allowing you to enhance your presence in major online promotions with a 100-word profile and your organisation’s logo.


Registration - Policy and Fees

The registration fees outlined below already incorporate a $100.00 twin discount for packages that include both Graduate Careers Fairs or a $150.00 triple discount for packages that include both Graduate Careers Fairs and the Summer Vacation Employment Fair.

An early bird discount of 5% off the total cost of a selected package also applies to all registrations received by 5.00pm, Thursday 20 December 2007, even for single events. As long as you register before this cut-off, you will incur the discount rate, irrespective of when you pay.

All fees are in Australian dollars and the amounts shown are GST inclusive.
Twin and triple event discounts are applied pre-GST.
Early Bird discount is applied after other discounts, but pre-GST.


Monash University Employment and Career Development also wishes to advise potential registrants that:

  • Proposed event offerings and published details, whilst not expected to, may change. Should significant changes to an event offering occur, consultation with affected registrants will take place, especially if changes necessitate fee increases.
  • Registration may close early if venue capacity is reached prior to the official closing date.
  • Employment and Career Development makes no undertaking that places will be available for ALL organisations wishing to participate. It is the responsibility of each organisation to ensure they register online correctly and within the official registration period, whether shortened or not.
  • Places cannot be “reserved” based on early or tentative expressions of interest. Registering online is the only way to secure a place.
  • Employment and Career Development reserves the right to refuse or cancel the registration of any organisation to ensure that places in demand are filled by organisations most appropriately matched to the aims of these events. If refusal or cancellation occurs, affected registrant(s) will be notified ASAP and no fee will be charged.
  • Employment and Career Development may adjust the ‘standard’ or ‘premium’ package allocation of particular registrants. In the unlikely event that such adjustment occurs, registrations downgraded to ‘standard’ will automatically incur the lower package price and will NOT have the option of retaining the ‘premium’ package. Those upgraded to ‘premium’ WILL have the option of refusing the upgrade and related extra cost.
  • Acceptance of late registrations is at the discretion of Employment and Career Development and may incur a late fee of $55.00 (GST inclusive) to cover additional administration. This fee is non-refundable in the event of later withdrawal.


Additional Catering - Policy and Fees

Catering can be purchased for additional representatives over and above the complimentary package limit of three per day. Extras will be charged at $27.50 (GST inclusive) per head, per day (discounted by 5% off if booked during the early bird registration period).

Numbers attending lunch from your organisation will be checked off at the function on event day(s). Admission of previously unregistered extras will be at the discretion of Employment and Career Development staff and will incur the above-stated extras fees, which will be invoiced post-event.


Cancellation - Policy and Fees

Cancellations must be notified in writing, to Tracie.Cox@adm.monash.edu.au.

A cancellation fee of $220.00 (GST inclusive) applies to withdrawals from either Graduate Careers Fair, if notified after 5.00pm, Thursday 31 January 2008, or this amount is forfeited if the total registration fee is already paid. Withdrawal of registration for both Graduate Fairs attracts a cancellation fee/forfeit amount of $440.00 (GST inclusive).

A cancellation fee of $220.00 (GST inclusive) applies to withdrawals from the Summer Vacation Employment Fair, if notified after 5.00pm, Thursday 3 July 2008, or this amount is forfeited if the total registration fee is already paid.

Cancellations not notified will incur the full registration fee applicable to the selected package option, or forfeit the full amount if already paid.


About Payment

After registration you will receive an official tax invoice. Instructions on how to pay will accompany the tax invoice and payment should not be made in advance of receiving this information. There is no 'pay online' option for 2008.
