What do I do when more than one person is interviewing me?

Interview footage: “When more than one person is interviewing you, then you are involved in a ‘panel interview’. A panel interview can involve two, three, four people. Often it depends on how senior the role is in terms of how many interviewers you will have”.

Heading: What do I do if I am interviewed this way?

Interview footage: “So in terms of what you do if you’re in that situation, well you need to be very inclusive of all people on the panel. A good way to begin, would be to find out everyone’s names and really make an effort to remember everyone’s names on the interview panel. Also, it would be useful to know what their positions are, what their job titles are; to give you an idea of their perspective from interviewing, where they’re coming from and what they’re going to be interested in about yourself. So there’s the making eye contact, being inclusive, and remembering that the quietest person on the panel needs to be included as much as the person whose the most vocal on the panel, and you might know from the job titles, who the most influential person might be: but behind the scenes, one person might actually have more influence in making the decision of who’ll be short listed and selected. So you obviously need to build rapport with everyone on the panel”.
